Subject Search and Browse
Using the browse option under catalog searches in the online catalog is a useful way to sort out fiction from nonfiction on a topic.
Advanced Search: Choose Advanced Search at the bottom of the blue search box as shown below.
Browse: In the upper right hand corner in the small Catalog Searches box choose the Browse option.
Subject Browsing: Enter a subject and a location as shown below and click on the subject button.
Example Search Results: Subject browsing for dogs in the Northern Resource Center turns up 20 titles at the top of the screen as shown below. All of these are non-fiction titles. Below that, under different subject headings, are titles under Dogs - Adoption, Dogs - Anecdotes, Dogs - Behavior, etc.
