Image of Ape House book coverCass County Public Library introduces this year’s community read initiative, “On The Same Page”. The purpose of a community reading project is to READ-THINK-TALK-LISTEN-GROW. It is a way to connect communities by reading the same book and initiating a dialogue about it. The program runs January 30 through April 14. The selected title is Ape House by Sara Gruen, the author of Water for Elephants.

Patrons can pick up a copy of the book at any Cass County Public Library branch. Three group discussions and one live online discussion forum are scheduled. A patron who participates in a group discussion or the online discussion will be eligible to win a Kindle e-reader.

The dates of the discussion groups are: Wednesday, February 29, 6:30 pm at Northern Resource Center (Belton); Wednesday, March 14, 1:00 pm at Drexel Branch; Saturday, April 14, 10:00 am at Harrisonville Branch. The online discussion forum is Thursday, March 8, 6:30 pm; the website is www.casscolibrary.org/forum.

Stop by any Cass County Public Library branch and get “On The Same Page!”
