Library Offers Summer Reading Program with Increased Hours

The Cass County Public Library is gearing up for Summer Reading! The 2021 theme is “Tails and Tales” and will feature a variety of reading challenges and programs for all ages. The program will run June 7th – July 31st, but early signups begin May 24th. Patrons can sign up here or through the Beanstack app, available free in app stores. Youth who complete the reading challenge receive a free book and have the opportunity to continue reading to earn tickets for a chance to enter Summer Reading grand prizes drawings. Although the library is not hosting in-person events, patrons are encouraged to participate in events online and throughout the community, such as the Storywalks© that will rotate between local parks in the county during June and July. Thanks to contributions from Peculiar Charitable Foundation, two stories will rotate around the county: Big Red Barn and Little Blue Truck. In preparation for the Summer Reading Program, the library will increase its hours on Tuesday, June 1st. Computer services are available at every branch. Patrons are highly encouraged to wear a mask covering the nose and mouth during their visit. For patrons who prefer not to come into the branches, curbside service will remain available on Mondays and Thursdays from 2pm-close. Our Bookmobile is back in service, too!
